The young German brand Mykita was founded in 2003 by Moritz Krueger, Philipp Haffmans, Daniel Haffmans, and Harald Gottschling. Mykita's first building was a former daycare center. The name Mykita is derived from "Kita," a common abbreviation for "daycare center" in German.
Inventive, independent, curious, and constantly seeking technical improvements – that's Mykita. By looking beyond the traditional boundaries of the eyewear world, collections are characterized by bold designs, with refined color combinations in carefully crafted stainless steel constructions.
Mykita's creative vision
The four gentlemen form the creative quartet of Berlin's eyewear industry. Where others remained stuck in the past, they consistently devised new materials and applications without losing sight of their ideals. High-quality innovation, with a fashionable and contemporary look, so everyone wants to wear a Mykita frame.
Progressive technology
Mykita is known for its progressive technologies and innovative approach to eyewear design.
3D printed glasses and surgical steel
Mykita began by perfecting metal frames made of surgical steel and making the temple attachment virtually indestructible. This resulted in the iconic Mykita No. 1 line. Mykita was also one of the first brands to launch a 3D-printed eyewear collection: the Mylon collection. From the very beginning, it was characterized by stunning quality and a design that can only be achieved with 3D printing.
Progressive designs and materials
Since 2014, Mykita has been one of the most progressive eyewear manufacturers in the world. The partnership with Zeiss has elevated Mykita sunglasses to unprecedented heights. Sunglasses with polarizing or contrast-enhancing lenses enhance your vision even further.
And even "ordinary" plastic glasses are no longer "ordinary" plastic glasses. The acetate used for Mykita Acetate frames is made exclusively and specifically for Mykita by Mazzuchelli in Northern Italy. With color combinations and designs that are unprecedented in the eyewear world as we know it.
