Just like the watches and jewelry, Cartier's eyeglass frames exude pure luxury. In addition to frames in plastic or metal, Cartier offers glasses in yellow or white 24-karat gold or set with diamonds.
Craftsmanship and Materials
The details in each frame consistently reference the jewelry collection. They are crafted with the highest quality materials, such as rolled gold (a combination of stainless steel and gold), as well as silver, white gold, platinum, and solid gold. They are characterized by exceptional comfort. Cartier eyeglass frames are naturally more expensive, but you'll be wearing glasses of the highest quality. Cartier is discreet luxury for your eyes.
History of Cartier
Cartier was founded in 1847 by French goldsmith Louis-François Cartier. However, its worldwide fame is thanks to his grandson, Louis Cartier, who in 1904 manufactured the first truly working wristwatch: the Santos model. That year, aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont asked his friend to create a clock for him that would allow him to tell the time while flying. This is how the idea for a wristwatch was born: a revolution for its time.
In 1914, Cartier first used the panther, the symbol for which the company is known: He created a watch that imitated the spotted fur. In the 1930s, watch designer Jeanne Toussaint joined the company and made the symbol popular by depicting it on an increasing number of objects: powder compacts, jewelry boxes, and so on. The panther symbolized women as objects of desire.
Today, Cartier is known worldwide as one of the most prized and respected luxury goods brands. The brand produces jewelry, watches, fragrances, accessories, and eyewear, all renowned for their craftsmanship, elegance, and quality, and worn by countless movie stars and even royalty.
