History of Cartier
Cartier was founded in 1847 by French goldsmith Louis-François Cartier. However, its worldwide fame is thanks to his grandson, Louis Cartier, who in 1904 manufactured the first truly working wristwatch: the Santos model. That year, aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont asked his friend to create a clock for him that would allow him to tell the time while flying.
