How does an eye test work?
We're happy to explain how an eye exam at Oogwereld works. Do you think your vision has deteriorated? Schedule an appointment for an eye exam at one of our stores near you.
1. Requesting complaints
Do you suffer from poor vision, eye problems, or a medical condition? It's important for our specialists to have a complete picture of your eye health so they can recommend the right vision solution.
2. Objective eye test
To analyze your vision profile, our specialists will perform an objective eye exam. This is an automated eye exam performed using an autorefractor. This eye exam can be considered a preliminary test, after which the specialist will refine the results.
3. Determination of visual acuity
Visual acuity, also known as vision, is assessed by measuring the eyes separately. This involves assessing the ability of the eye to distinguish between two adjacent points.
4. Subjective eye test
By placing lenses of different strengths in front of your eyes, the specialist can accurately determine the prescription. This is first done for each eye separately, then for both eyes simultaneously.
5. Checking eye coordination
The measured strength is placed in a trial frame, after which various binocular tests are performed. This involves checking and assessing the coordination of both eyes.
6. If necessary: Determine reading addition in trial glasses
As people get older, they often have difficulty seeing clearly up close. In that case, reading addition is determined using trial glasses. This involves determining an additional plus correction that improves close-up vision.
7. Eye Health Check
During our eye measurements we do a standard Eye Health CheckFor this, we use a special camera to take a detailed image of your retina. This image provides us with valuable information about the health of your eyes and allows us to detect any problems early.
